Sorry Steve I never saw the pic properly with the writing saying coolant pump, for some reason only some of the pic was loading, makes sense now
If the end plate is aluminium it won't braze so your liquid metal sounds like the best idea, I wonder if you could stich the outside in some way to hold it or a plate across.

Re: Now I started I cant stop
Had a quick look at how I can fit thing together today, its a shame due to Regs I cant run a V pulley and link all 3 together, would be the simplest and look the best in my opinion!
But, looks like im going to have to use direct couplings for the dynamo, might be able to get away with the water pump  using a round belt, need to get it to the hight and level so I can get a decent measurement, looking like 5 1/8 of the deck, should be able to bolt something together to get it to that!
The pump is going to be a pain, could do with the inlet and out let being in a different place as its going to be a pain getting them around the drive belt but sure I will work it out.
Once on a base is should be around 2 foot square.
Cheers Steve

New bush made, very pleased.
The wear on the old one became quite apparent.
Compared to the new
One less job to worry about, just got to fit it now!

You wouldn't expect that much wear, is it getting enough oil?

Well if the next one last another 81 years it can't be bad, best make a note on how to change it coz your memory won't be too good at that age

If I reach 81 I will be doing well lol, it was worth having it done for £28, just need to get it in when I have a spare minute, was going to do it Tuesday, but now have to drive over to Henlow for a medical review board.

Re: Now I started I cant stop
Piston is on, reamer did the trick, thinking i should have done the big end same time......
better get looking for piston ring, about 1/8” broke off the end, and the securing the gudgeon pin will never come out again, the threaded part is split at the end so it can be spread to stop it unscrewing, one side broke! not having much luck.

Re: Now I started I cant stop
Would seem my Scott is a bit odd, been trying to buy piston rings, would seem standard bore is 73mm but mine old heavily worn ring would say other wise, looking like it is 78mm and on measuring it is, now that a hell of a over bore at nearly 200thou (100thou from each side), having a dig and getting another Scott measured!

Re: Now I started I cant stop
I can get rings no problem, just odd this ones bore is so large, and the fact is No 25 in production with such a large over bore with a scott piston seems a little odd, just more to research!

I like researching all part of the fun I possible know where there is one, just waiting to hear back on it.
Might be sorted, a mate meassured his and it look like there is either a misprint in the sales stuff or the sale info is a pre-production model.
Dont go killing yourself Dave! take it easy, get a chair out and start barking the boys about
