Hi
Just collected a JAP engine with dynamo the only markings I can see are JAP & F10 - can anyone help with info regarding this engine i.e. size & where I can find more information.

Thanks !

Jap stationary engine F10 Empty To Clarify

Post by csm1406 Thu Jun 26 2014, 19:23

This an engine on a stand linked to a dynamo with a clutch mechanism - I have not tried to start although the vendor offered to start it before I took it away & I am certain it will start - good compression - I would like to know more before starting etc.

Thanks !

A picture of the JAP would enable swift identification of the model

You have a JAP 2A engine, got a few myself somewhere. On the top of the crankcase (on the exhaust side) just below and in front of the cylinder there should be some letters and numbers stamped. They are usually buried in paint though, might have to do some scraping!

Pete.

Thanks Guys for input - I can now order a manual for it & start it up knowing it is 4 stroke.
