jap 80 stationary engine.
Hi All, does anyone know the thread size that is on the crank shaft where you mount the flywheel on a jap 80 stationary engine that is on a rotavator. The thread on the end of the shaft is slightly damaged , im looking to know the correct size die to run it down over the thread to tidy it up. its about 3/8 " in diameter but it is very fine. thanks in advance,
Regards Seamus

Probably a BSF thread if it's that old and a fine thread.

Can't answer your question but suggest you invest a few quid in set of imperial thread gauges - always come in handy.

If its a Jap engine its unlikely to be BSF. More probably British cycle thread.
