one of the best policy's mate . im more like that these days ! when i was 18 / 19 i got a few credit cards and loans out and was a shit when i had no work for 9 months and watch the intreast build up still paying it off to this day ! but within 2 years i will be debt free ! Will be a big weight of my shoulders i know that ... I kick myself alot to how stupid i was when i was a bit younger ! but we all learn from our mistakes .... and the last 4 - 5 vehicles i have bough have been of my own back no help from nobody . Just scrimp and save .

I know i will never do it again ! I say at least did it early in life instead whn i was in my 30's etc . i see it this way it be over by time im 26 /27 .

When I went bankrupt it was the best thing that happened to me that was 10 years ago and I've never been in debt since and everything I have is bought and paid for, wouldn't have it anyother way. Thing is sometimes you see something and it's always tempting to get it on never never

Me too never borrowed in my life no credit cards,if I haven't got the cash I can't have it.what pisses me of when I bought my daughters house they done f****g money checks on me to see how I got it.

taxman after you now Chris.

Ihad 10 buses/coaches and had one on tick and that was the one that caused me all the problems, everytime it was of the road it still had to be paid for so all the other had to pay to keep it, as the old saying goes if I knew then what I knew now I'd never have bought it, yes it was smart and it did bring it's own work in just by people seeing it but all the others worked and they made profit not pay the fianance company.

I think that most of us have been there. When I was in my twenties I used to change my car every few months. Went through the lot, Spitfires, Midgets, Alfas, you name it. Trouble was I was taking out loans and using credit cards to live. I'm now in my fifties and have only managed to get myself straight in the last ten years. But, boy does it feel good. Nothing owed on the cards, a bit of savings in the bank and the opportunity to buy whatever I want as long as I can afford it. If only my son didn't take after me in my teens. There is never enough month at the end of the money and he has to borrow for petrol. But I don't begrudge him because he is a good lad. He rarely drinks. He hates drug users, and he works for a living. At 23 years old I think that's a good track record.

Yes dan we all see sense but take years to see it

What gets me is how these young people can afford to go out drinking, it's nothing for them to spend £100 on a night out.

it was my grandads motto and my old man was the same..we used to go to the car auctions with a hell of a bundle of money..all cash,cant buy stuff with cash nowadays its all plastic..they recon that's the way it will be soon all plastic
oh great then we will all be getting our bank accounts fliest....

It's great paying by cash, I handed over 4k one day and the guy was in such a panic he had to go to the bank straight away.

Mmmm, well they are very busy Matt and when you try to phone them the answer machine is always full. Would have thought that 8 days was pushing it a little though, or did you send a cheque, they may be awaiting clearance on it?

kev they do otherwise why would the form ask you to fill in your card details .....

my mate Ian uses them a lot and has no problem..mite be stuck in the post mate...

A update on the pump ...

The seals arrived the other day so i have assembled it and made the pipework to suit .

A few pictures ....







All got to do is to try it out , but was pumping like a goodun on the old knackered seals so should pump well ...

Abes that frame was something i quickly knocked up

Not aiming for it to be perfect just in working clothes so scratches on the frame etc is part of the look lol .

None of my pumps have been restored all are in working clothes .... Think i should restore one cosmetically at somepoint lol

LOL really hate people that are good at welding, iam quite good at melting two bits of metal together thats about it

Abes many people say how good my welding is but i have been welding from age of about 14 well with MIG anyway . but can mig , arc , gas , and braze . but mainly a mig man myself . Welding box and angle anything decent is easy but when comes to something thin and rusty like a car well that's not welding its just shi*ing some weld on there and hope it stays , the new metal is not the problem its how bad the old metal is ! Even if you clean it up with grinder etc sometimes you have to weld to metal that is not 100% sound ie is a bit soft or pitted or even thin . Or you will be cutting nearly the whole car apart to patch a small area up ... Believe me that happened to a small job that was going to do today that thought would be a few hours and now its stretched to tomorrow as well !

Abes if there is anything you want knocking up just give me a shout mate .

Great news that the seals arrieved you must have been happy to see them after so long. You'll have to run it up with an engine and let us know what it's pumping like now.
