Hello I'm new to the forum, and would greatly appreciate any help I am currently renovating the pump and am in need of the two brass access plugs that cover access to the lower valves they are a funny size and I cannot locate any.

The only way might be to get someone to make some for you , unless you wait but expect a long wait for some to turn up .

you would have to try a machinist / tool maker turn down from bar stock bronze / brass .

what do they measure accross? both thread id & od, can you guage tpi?

that would work but I think it's bigger than that more like 1.1/2 . the original had a hex cut out to take a big Allen key. But it would work the same. A tpi gauge for bsp is what you need to measure it.

was wondering if it was bsw being as its not a pipe fitting, if its bsp it will be 11 tpi, if its bsw it will be 7 tpi for 1 1/4 or 6 for 1 1/2

all water pump threads are bsp on English pumps. unless it's a nut or bolt. my pumps I have got have had new drain plugs and they was bsp.

Thanks guys, pretty sure the dia is 1"1/8 because I have some plugs and 1" is to small and 1"1/4 is to big, a strange size I know

Hello again have noticed a couple of members have done these pumps before, I could do with some advice on how to get the piston out and crankshaft. I'll attach a a pic of where I'm at with it. Oh crap don't know how too!

Good plumber's merchant might be able to help you with the plugs. If you could only get pipe fittings you could still adapt them to be blanking plugs.

that would be me? there easy to take apart. take the head part off, held on with two bolts and a verry stuck gasket. the piston and conrod unscrew. crank, take side covers off and remove through one side, I forget which side it is now.

you shouldn't be able to break it by just undoing the conrod, it's a normal thread.

Oh and managed to get the Conrod loose, just having trouble with the brass set screws that attach the piston to the crank at the back
