I have been a bit quiet on here lately, but does not mean I have not been busy, picked up the Climax at Oakley a few weeks ago and glad it was all there, which when looking at most of these for sale have bits missing or frost damage, all I had to replace were the botched up bearings on the shafts and the leather cups that were perished, then a good clean up and paint, I have used the colour that the Bamford SV3 is going to be as I will use the SV 3 to run pump next year at rallies. I now need to sort out pipework and tank, I did think about using the water tank from the Bamford to feed pump and then back to tank, which I presume would keep engine well cool, what do peoples think,

Got to say I really like that colour - its lighter than all those heavy dark greens we tend to see - better for an engineers eyes to visually check - and it shows off the detail nicely!

Not sure what an optimal operating temperature is for a Bamford SV3 is but I'm thinking this pump may move a lot of water/ gallons/ litres per minute/ hour - might mean it takes your engine longer to warm up to prime operation temp but as its a rally engine not under much load who cares! - I don't think it will cause any mechanical issues or wear more at low speeds and loads.... perhaps a drip or more of oil but not enough to worry about...

Best

Have been studying pictures of these pumps and see there should be a belt guide, so decided to make one up this afternoon,
just need to get painted, also used stainless steel rod so won't have to worry about paint being rubbed away.
