Climax No.3 water pump
Hi, does anyone know where I might be able to get a replacement air chamber for a Climax No.3 pump(think it's No.3)
I know that it doesn't necessarily need an air chamber, but would be nice to put the pump back to original spec!
I have a friend that has said If I make a former, he will cast one from Grp.

Probably difficult to find an air vessel for this pump. How about thinking laterally .... I've seen old brass fire extinguishers modified into pump air vessels. Maybe something like this:

Or perhaps an old CO2 bottle ? or small scuba diving air bottle. Our local scrap yard used to have a pile of these including small ones. Have a think.

Re: Climax No.3 water pump
Thanks for the link, certainly a possibility! I got the pump home today and whilst recovering the pump from it's original location I found half of the air chamber. I'm hoping to go back and with the aid of a metal detector find the other half!

Re: Climax No.3 water pump
Hi
Have you progressed with this pump? I've been restoring one for a few weeks now but only today established that it is actually a Climax as all identifying names are not there other than casting numbers. If it wasn't for your post I would not know it is a Climax number 3
A picture of mine so far almost there.

Re: Climax No.3 water pump
Hi, glad that my post was of some help to you!
I have managed to get all the bits needed to bring the pump back to life, although i've not had the time to make any further progress.
Your pump is looking lovely and seeing the parts you were able to make was very interesting!
