Climax No 1 pump help

Hi all, i have had this pump for a couple of years now and only just striped it all down but i think the leather cup washers will want replacing, any idea where i can get some, also i had to carefully grind the 2 nuts off to remove the cup washers, should they be brass ? because these where steel and a right pain to remove. sorry but i dont know how to add photos.

I had a Climax No.1 but didn't realise how big it was until I'd bought it, going on the numbering system I thought it would be Lister No.1 size so decided it was too big for what I wanted and moved it on.

A nice looking pump. I have a lister H2 waiting to be put back together, lister domestic, and a Godwin A1E as well..

Yes, The lister domestic and godwin have been at both, I am not far from stratford on avon.

Still no luck in tracing any cup seals, So I am going to have a go at making some, I have never this before but will give it a go just got to wait now till the leather comes..

What is the bore diameter?

Hi Paul,
The bore is 2x1/2", center hole is 5/8", I will see how i get on making them if i fail i will look into the sites you put up.

Make a former but soak in a softening oil first whose name I cant remember some other brainy richard will know

Leather cup washers have been made, just got to sort a way to stamp out the center holes.

I have now punched out the holes in the pump seals. Now i can get on with restoring the pump now that i know i have got seals..

Excellent job! 

you still need to soak them otherwise the water will eventually rot the leather.
