New to this forum, old to the game!
I have restored, repaired and renovated many things over the years. Lister, Armstrong and Ferguson T20, for example. I haven't done a project for a while, so have 'dropped off the radar' somewhat! Some weeks ago, my son was rummaging in a shed and found an old Stuart Turner engine and pump set. I remember buying this at an auction in Cornwall many years ago. I had forgotten about it! Anyway, on instructions from my son, I've started on it!
Despite all my previous experience, my knowledge of Stuart Turner is pretty much zero. So far initial enquiries and contact I have tried, have elicited very little and I'm beginning to think it must be a very special closed shop! Hopefully via this forum I will find that this is not so, or at least be able to wiggle my way in closer to the mysteries of ST.
The piece in question is a little S.T. R2 engine with an A6 pump, circa 1948. A simple enough thing, but one can never have too much expert and experienced knowledge. I must say I am already impressed by the quality and nature of S.T. engineering.
I'll start talking technical and asking questions in the appropriate place.
I'm located in Somerset.
Regards. Eric
