lister d history?
Ive been looking at my new lister d book ive had for xmas to see if I might find my own engines history etc, but can find no mention. The flywheel number is 177249, the brass plaque number is different 1/38101, the spec says 28DH.
can anyone shed any light on this?

Re: lister d history?
hi there.
your lister was built between July - December 1949. I have some records too. Hope that helps.

Since there are 2 numbers given it rather depends which one you want to date against.
Certainly 1/38101 is 1949.
However, the flywheel number, 177249 is 1942.
I would suggest that the flywheel is more likely to be accurate for the engine date as its less easy to change than a brass plate/crankcase door.

Cheers lads. the 1942 date might explain the pea green paint on it. think they used different paint during the war?
