lister d starting problem
Hi,just bought lister d totaly in its working clothes got spark but the only way to get it to fire is to spray petrol into plug hole. I have already cleaned float chamber, the clip was broken on the top of the float that holds float, have replaced that.Any information on how adjust carb would be great.

Re: lister d starting problem
try holding the little spring operated valve on the inlet down with your finger as you crank.... it will in create a choke effect an suck a richer mixture in.....also make sure you are using fresh petrol.. the modern rubbish even in the past couple of years I am now having problems with modern engines starting....

Hi.wdf thank you for your reply, cleaned carb and plug also cleaned points and there was some signs of life,I read somewhere about rubbing a pencil on tip of the plug did that after a few swings she fired into life, the engine was running fast so shut it down, adjusted the linkage to the governer it seem to be better, but needs further adjustment.Cheers Rob.
