Hi all, As some of you will know there's An Appletop in the family, Since it arrived, its had new whitemetal bearings fitted, a quick skim of the new piston liner that was out of true at the top of stroke, a new set of rings, and a full re-paint!
it runs a treat after advise from you guys,THANKS ROB. I thought i'd show you a few pics i took along the way, and the video was taken yesterday during its long two hour test run .

Re: Petter Appletop is back!
Nice engine! I have a 3HP Appletop in original red paint with silver Petter script. It runs but the pulley side bearing is seriously worn. It will need new mains and possibly a crank regrind. Because the whole crank has been slightly offset when running due to the wear I am hoping the big end hasn't suffered.
Anyway, just wondering what company you used to re-do the mains and did you get a full new bearing cast, or the old ones bored out and re-lined ? Also, did you get the crank re-ground?
Cheers Dave

Hi, I didn't use a company at all, i took the parts to Didcot where i keep Earl Bathurst, there we have facilitates for whitemetallig, boring and the rest of it.so this was a bit like modeling really, only took a day too!fowlerfan wrote:Nice engine!
