I like that engine, theres plenty of elbow grease required before a rally.
Good buy wish i could get one of them.

It begins
Started to make some head way on the Stuart,
got it mostly stripped just having a little trouble getting the crank shaft out of the other half of the crank case.
all seems to be ok with it, gave the bearings i can get to a clean and they seem fine.
only seems to need a piston ring well and starting handle.
Very please so far thanks Adam, was the 2nd choice after the Bernard but i can get parts easer etc, plus I love how simple 2 strokes are
Had two quotes for rings dearest at £12 + vat so not as bad as i though, and £20 for a Gasket set.
Now to start cleaning and polishing.
Cheers, Steve

Re: Stuart Turner R3MC "Operation Brasso" :D
Thought best to crack on ,
trying to decide if the water tank i got my eye on will be big enough, will hold over a gallon so should be ok, plus its brass/copper
I think im going to put a break on it to load it up enough to run proper.
Will hopfully get it stipped and painted in primer by the weekend, dont hold me to that though.
Cheers, Steve

Re: Stuart Turner R3MC "Operation Brasso" :D
I like to have all that needed there so I can just crack on, I hate waiting for bits. spotted a compete Jap 2a flywheel on flebay, should sort out the points and condenser, and coil ( coil might not be needed) couldn't quite afford a new one from Villiers Parts £55 for a coil, I didn't pay much more then that for the engine lol. see how it goes.

Terry worth it just for the visit to his house lol, when we picked up the Sattley it was sat just in the front door next to a complete Norman T300 Genny set and a Alco Feaher weight as a door stop lol.
Very smart man, though talking to hims like getting blood from a stone! my granddad rings him every week just to keep in touch.
Terry's the Short one

Thought i would take a pic while the drill was recharging.
Before:
After:
The Stuart Carb, quite simple really.
Looks like its had a hard life, few bent bits, but if its going to work il keep it as is, adds to the Character.
Cheers,Steve
