Petter A1 questions
Hi
as a few know already I have just bought this: ebay No 130714135181
I won't get her for a couple of weeks though as a friend will be driving by and collecting her for me, I am getting quite excited though and starting to think about the work ahead, so have a couple of questions for you all
1 Is the correct colour Mid brunswick green?
2 what would be the correct Petter logo/decal for this model?
3 It looks like the link rod for the governor may be missing in the photo, does anyone know the length/diameter of the rod or have one they could photograph/measure for me please so that I can make one?
thanks in advance
Andy

Re: Petter A1 questions
Here's the ebay link again,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130714135181?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D130714135181%26_rdc%3D1
As far as the colour goes that's up to you, once you've been on the rally field and had a look round at the sea of Mid Bruswick Green engines you might change your mind.
If you read Hob's restoration of his Petter A1 it's very interesting and should help you a lot, here's his finished engine.

Richard had a bulk buy of blue paint, He's a bit of a Petter A expert.

I do see your point re colour, but I would rather keep it original if I can although mr blobby's pink with yellow spots may break up the sea of brunswick green
anyone any ideas on the linkage or the logo?

Its here :)
got her at about midnight last night so no run up as yet. First observations are it still has a little of the diamond logo, the tank still has original text, the govenor link rod is there but not connected at the gov arm end. Also noted that there are 6 holes (in a circle) for the govenor arm end, is this going to be trial and error? lol Also does anyone know how much compression I should expect to find please?

OH yes!

bad video I know, but hey ho, and I had finger slippage shutting down hence the back fire at the end lol
only issue so far was a little fueling issue, but sorted that pretty quickly, bring on the paint

cheers Richard,
will get the paint on in a couple of weeks, then transfers, olny issue I have there is getting hold of the tank transfer as it still has the original starting instruction decal although very worn. If i can get a transfer great but failing that i just need to find the text and make it myself

Sounds nice. Most of the decals are still available if you search around.
