Im new to this forum, so unsure of any posting protocols. Hope this is alright. My questions relate to a Lister A. The exhaust and inlet port are identical. Does it matter which side I put what. What direction should the engine rotate. My mistake, one more question. The timing cover is off, and at the moment the exhaust cam follower is on the same side as the carb. The right side as you look into the timing chest.
Cheers for any help, UNCLE CHUFTY

Hi and a very warm welcome to the forum.
Your first post is in exactly the right place but you might want to start a new thread in New Projects/Restorations when you get going.

Any identifying marks, engine number? Post a few pictures when you are able and no doubt you will get plenty of advice.
