bsa is now under the running and ready for the painting to begin

now that is one shinny engine kev , the block looks like its been powder coated lol

cracking job so far kev , how long untill it all up and on a base ?

matt ive just finished cutting drilling sanding ect ect the base
wood stain is now in its last coat ,varnish in late morning asemble back together and remount engine tomorrow evening
just the tank to fit and panels to screw up tight fit fuel pipe when chromed and polished tomorrow
oil in engine and reductionbox ,hope my home made gaskets and the new oilseals dont leak
then its pull the rope
and hoping i dont want to find a tree to hang myself with it, if some things wrong lol

p.s ive tryed to make the wood ive shaped and sized with my blunt woodsaw took forever,
to look old and restored like the engine and
yes its pallet wood again sorry lads
budget wont run to oak, elm ,keroine

money bags .... i think you would be referring to mike and jonsey there

Hardwood is nice but has a price tag , everyone can afford it , but i would say for a avrage engine size trolley it would cost at least £60 for materials .

Kev have you no reclamation yards near you? you could pick up some hardwood from them at a reasonable price. It's somewhere I keep meaning to go o but never seem to have the time at present.
Engine is looking well, fingers crossed no leaks.

im like you every time i need wood i forget alabout the reclamation yards 15mins from mine lol
that is a good point and idea for cost cutting for everyone
and helps our eco footprint out for when were burning or uncatalized fuel into the ozone LOL lol LOL

here the frame drying out 4hrs later and still tacky lol
maybe do it tomorrow at this rate

it is now 2.15am saturday morning and the bloody yacht varnish is still tacky 4-6hrs drying time my arse lol
engine oiled up and no leaks
screws and bolts for cowlings are tighted down tight now
fuel tank on and piped up and tight
just the wood frame is like watchin paint dry only slower lol
photos and a video tomorrow if the frame ever drys out

Nothing worse then watching paint dry Kev, you'll get there soon enough and the wait will be worth while.

plenty to go at still,
and ive 2 more watercooled coming up from south coast ,in the near future.
they will be fun to sort out but thats the way i like it

its just got back from the winking man rally ,in the moors

Thats the fun of this hobby it can be done with very few resources and not a great deal of room though saying that it is nice to have as much of both as we can get our hands on lol

I have to say of all the small engines the BSA has the best sound reminds me of all the old british bikes that used to be around when I was a kid.

I have no room in my shed to do big engines I have to work on them outside but at least I have a garden to keep them in not like you kev, don't know what I do without the space I have.

well i just annoy the neighbours now and dont care anymore to be honest
if we get evicted then they will have to move us to somwere else with atleast 2 bedrooms and a enclosed garden hehe
as me ,wife marseilla and mariah in a 1 bed flat is to be honest ,cramped and depressing

the bsa is now under new ownership
i didnt want to sell her really but needs must
and i like the new owner and think she will be well looked after by him
P.S i you read this and thinking of selling her on again in the future,
im hoping to better in bigger and better premises by this time,
would like/love to have first refusal for her

Of course i'd give you first refusal kev, that goes without saying......i'd also like to thank you for your hospitality and all the help and advice you gave me on my visit, this was very usefull to someone like me just starting out in the hobby..... hopefully i didn't out stay my welcome?. i am well pleased with the bsa Kev you've done a cracking job, this has set me a very high bench mark for the restoration of the MK25, i have made a start on the 25 and hope to start painting in the next few days?

Well I hope this doesn't make his head swell to much but Kev does do a good job with his restorations. He does check them over and do repairs where necessary, not just slap on a coat of paint to sell an engine at a profit.
