2 new engines

well guys kev is picking on me.
keeps asking wot engines im getting 1 is tank cooled the other is air cooled thats it for now.

at the moment im not in love with my jap engine.the dam thing is flooding all the time i have had the carb in bits give all a good clean in thinners but still floods.any ideas guys.befor it ends up in the the trailer for the scrap yard.

Dave..i guess you have tried this but have you checked the float on it????????
if you cant sort it get your stalker to come and sort it hes the man for those engines....

Little Jap was not scrap mate you've just given up on it too quick at the end of the day its only the carb thats beaten you, was there anything eles wrong with it?

had the local mower shop take a look at the carb cost me £20 but the carb is shot on it.cant fined a new gasket for it eather so its scrap.

Dave can you not make a gasket for it out of cork or something....

I've got 2A for parts with a carb on it. I could perhaps use your "scrapper" ?

Dave don't give up so easy, the bits are out there sometimes you just have to wait a while before you find them. I've had a few engines in the past where others have given up on them and a bit of pataints and I've found the parts I need. I needed a carb for a BSA only one I could find was £75 waited a few months and picked one up for a fiver. I bought a Jap with low compression, managed to get a new set of rings for £14. Even if you have to buy another cheap engine for parts you get the buzz of sorting it out and knowing it was your own work. Just look for another carb and get some petrol proof gasket paper.

Just remember if everyone gave up easy we'd not have half the old engines we have now.
