Deutz MAH711

Hello. I have a deutz Mah711 stationary engine I'm restoring. The previous owner obviously " tinkered" with the injector. I am trying to set it up but need to know the pressure it should be set to open. I have a copy of the manual...but it just says measure the screw top to locknut distance before disassembly. ...not much use if somebody's been there before!!

You need to identify the injector nozzle to know its operating pressure, depending on the type of nozzle you will  need a pressure gauge that measures in hundreds of PSI maybe thousands and I assume you don't know if the pump is delivering the correct pressure. You'd be better off taking the pump and injector to a service centre to get it checked over.

One other point, do not wipe the nozzle with your fingers, the nozzle spray will easily burst your skin and inject you with diesel which will mean a trip to the hospital.

Many thanks. The engine is my son's....and he's sent video of it running just now. He's been working on it allmorning. ..adjusted pump...injector and governor by "eye!" He is an agricultural engineer....but at least its now running .
