Post by JONESEY Sat Nov 14, 2009 10:22 pm

This is the Sandwich 1 1/2hp that I have just imported.
The chap I got it from said the last time it ran was 30 years ago it was at the back of his Barn covered in Hay.
I cleaned the cobwebs out of the Mag and cleaned the spark plug. I fitted a new fuel valve cleaned cab needle.
Not a lot of compreshion pulled her over buy hand not a lot happened.
Plug out put some petrol in the plug hole screwed plug back in ,swung her over and away she went.
A bit smokey oiled everthing up that moved had her running for 3 hours. Not a lot of smoke now , excellent compreshion

Wow way to go Chris, you must ov had a grin from ear to ear when she fired up. A very nice looking engine, got to say I've never heard of one but it does look the business, do you have a build date for it? When on the subject do you manage to get the build dates for all your engines or just the more popular ones.
Will this engine get the full make over? It looks good either way.

Stu.

It looks great Chris, I reckon that It would take a little more work to bring me to life if I had been asleep for 30 + years though!

Just a little oil back round the rings & bore will soon restore any compression, Try it when we put your wolsley back together but be prepared for the smoke at first! lol!

Beautiful engine Chris, you must be really pleased.

You know what I am going to say, I like to see engines done up with a nice shiny coat of new paint. But thats just what I would do.

Either way, you must be well pleased with your purchase.

Cheers

Martin.
