I'm a newby to stationary engines. I've just got my hands on Lister Type D, with a Lister domestic water pump, stone sink and trolley. I've changed the oil, cleaned the points and plug. Jet washed the fuel tank out and made a new copper, gauze filter. After a float bowl clean and a polish up of the carb needle valve, the D started. All good so far.

Hello pete, welcome aboard. I was raised in Yorkshire and know that you can in fact tell a Yorkshireman lots of stuff and he will listen intently as long as he is not being charged for it. Lots of good advice here, based on experience and they wont charge you for it, so fill yer boots.
Regards
Bill
