Hi from North Yorkshire
Hello everybody,
Not really a new member, been watching the forum for some time now, thought it was about time I said hello.
My name is Andy, and I am based near Darlington, originally a West Country boy. I have an unhealthy interest in anything that moves, has wheels (or tracks), goes round and round and makes a noise. I have an engineering background, and am happy to help any members if I can.
I really enjoy all the topics on here, the knowledge is bottomless, and I have picked up a few good tips.
Wondering if there is anyone who can help.
I have a Petter 2A twin 8Hp. No.320706, which I have fully restored, new rings, valve guides, seals, head gaskets etc., new paint and made a new trolley. Now runs perfect.
I can't find much information about these engines, and was wondering if anyone has any idea of it's value and original use. I will try to put up some pictures as soon as I can.
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Hi from North Yorkshire
Welcome to the forum Andy, despite living in Derbyshire in 'normal times' I exhibit at a few events in North Yorks (Masham steam fair, the Masham sheep fair, Hunton, Newby Hall, etc plus the old Scorton and Hurworth events now sadly missed ). I am hoping to get my passport re-stamped for heading north again next year, if they let me back in of course! I think that Rooksey (the Earl of Richmond) controls the barrier?
Pete.

Very nice!! They are an uncommon site on the rally field, was one around here on a genuine WW11 trailer as part of a compressor set, was very clever, the unloader valve on the compressor shut the governor down on the engine.
I think there is one in the IWM at Duxford with a PU8 on it.

Re: Hi from North Yorkshire
I maybe having a silly moment but isnt that a PU2/8, if yes I had one several years driving a crank mounted centrifical pump, I only had one problem, it sucked petrol faster than I could fill the tank
Mine was an original military unit in its original frame and the exhausts came out of the cylinders then through a u-bend down to the underside of the cowling into a large car type silencer.

No, that is a 2A. A PU2 has full shrouds over the flywheel and cylinder heads.
