I'm considering getting my first engine/project and looking for recommendations.
Preference for something simple, running/working, maybe more of a cosmetic makeover project than a full on mechanical rebuild.
I'm located in Chelmsford Essex, so nearer the better (hopefully)

Thanks for replying, I suppose something budget end of the scale as a first project, with parts and help readily available?
I guess I'm looking at something like the Lister D engines as they seem plentiful ?
Don't open crank engines tend to command more money ?
