National petrol engine
Hi,
Just bought a small National engine, trying to date it if I can. Found some details on the web, name changed to National Gas and oil Engine co Ltd in 1935, so I know it's after that. Not sure what HP it is even, as the plate just gives engine number 57071, and 100 rpm. Anyone in a position to help me? Either own knowledge or web link? any information appreciated, cheers Pete

Re: National petrol engine
100 RPM is pretty slow, so not much HP, I wouldn't have thought, not unless it's a 9HR or something.

Sorry, typing error, 1000rpm...whoops!
Since found out a little more, it is an F type, but trying to date it a bit better.
Cheers for the reply mate

If its the closed crank one that was pulled on ebay then its definitely an F type and made into the 1950's. Anson museum should be able to help you date it for a fee.....
