Help float and carb on lister d Empty Help float and carb on lister d

On my lister d it running but fuel spitting out top of float a lot and the hole below the choke pin on side of carb is leaking petrol I  tried clean carb and float but at a reel lost here guys and gals help plz  confused

Is the float ok? When mine did that the float was stuck, I hit it with a spanner and it stopped.

take out the rod that the float is attached to and give the tapered bit at the bottom a clean. this bit works as a valve, if there is grit in it or its corroded it will not mate with the tapered hole and stop the flow of fuel.
failing that, try adjusting the float height, there should be a little grove that the float clip fits into.
the first problem happened to me at a rally, its a two minute fix.

Hitting floats with spanners is definitely not a practice to be recommended  No

hitting the float with anything doesn't sound good, their made of thin copper and a really thin brass rod. all you should have to do is push it down with your fingers if it is stuck
