Unknown old engine
Hello,
I found this old engine sitting in the woods on the Finnish countryside. I had a talk about it with a local hobbyist and he suspected that it might not be Finnish made. Now I'm asking if someone here would know the manufacturer of this engine. I did not find any kind of markings on it.
Thanks
Ville

is that 2 engines you have as the 2 belt wheels look different? - shame it is not complete that would be a great looker with the curved spokes.

It's the same engine in both pictures. The belt wheel just looks different because i took of the rotten wooden ring that was bolted on a "normal" belt wheel to give it more diameter.

I am afraid not. The picture shows all the parts I have found so far. It would be fun to know if the missing parts still exist.

That is a pity. What you have looks to be in great condition for an engine found in the woods.

Re: Unknown old engine
One of the Japanese manufacturers had those curved spoked flywheels, I saw it in an old copy of a magazine somewhere recently. I will have to have a look & see if I can find it again. I doubt an old Japanese engine would have found its way to Finland though, especially back then. But they might've been built under license from someone else's design.
