lister D engine date unknown.

Hi everybody , i am new to this i acquired a lister engine with a stuck down valve , so i want to restore it to its former glory its looking a little sad just now its been stripped down ready for a coat of paint , new big end shell , and a few other bits too , i didnt get the age of it and i would be very happy if you could date it for me 1/49296 SPEC 28 DH , THANKS

If you go on line [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and ask Doreen, she can look up the exact date it was sold and who the buyer was.

You can also buy a book on the Lister D history from her which contains a dating guide. Stationary Engine magazine also has frequent articles on Lister Ds.

Both addresses should work, maybe Doreen is having server problems. Give it a day or two and try again is my best advice.

petchar, what doesn't work, Doreen does this for her late and missed Husband David Edgington and it may take a few days to answer.

I have investigated and Doreen is currently 'unavailable'; suggest you try again in a few days time. She usually responds instantly - especially in the mornings.
Meanwhile, my best 'guesstimate' for your engine's date is 1950 - before the new numbering system started.
