After giving the rockers shaft, spacers and rockers and good old clean up ive noticed a bit of play on the rockers and some grooving on the shaft. im thinking this maybe a little to much to leave unrectified. hopefully you can see in the pics and give me your opinions please Very Happy Wink

I would suggest finding a replacement shaft and maybe rockers. I had a quick look on ebay and found http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lister-D-Stationary-Engine-Rocker-Assembly-/200907493488?pt=UK_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item2ec7051070 and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lister-D-rocker-shaft-Stationary-engine-/111032677252?pt=UK_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item19da103384 It might be worth sending a message to the sellers to find out if they have any play in them etc.

I have had dealings with the seller in the second link and he wouldn't try and sell knackered engine parts, I think he will be your best bet.
Cheers Dan

I've had parts from the second seller also, spot on no problems with the things I've had.

Yes I'd look to replace the rocker shaft as there not that expensive secondhand. You need to check the oil ways etc are all clean as your shaft looks to have neen run a bit short of lubricant.

Stu.

its will still run ok even with that wear as its a slow running engine under no stress and very low pressure on the valve springs..
