First time restoration
I have just bought two lister d's. One siezed and one is a reverse rotation. My question is can a normal carb be made to fit the reverse one? They are both missing various parts but I am wondering which one will be the easiest to rebuild.

Re: First time restoration
I'll have abetter idea once I get them back to the unit, I do know I'll need at least a carb, fuel pipe, governor linkage, water tap, magneto chain and sprocket. That's for the reverse, the other one has very little on it.
I'll get some photos up over the weekend and see if anyone notices anything else missing.

Martin most parts can be sourced on ebay but you need to add up to see if it's viable to buy them as people strip Lister D's to make more money just from selling the parts. Maybe worth considering buying a cheap Lister D with everything on it then just scrapping the block/head.

Pretty sure that the A/Clock carb is different as the throttle spindle and crank are the opposite way round and swapping them over doesn't work as it puts the crank at the wrong angle. They had to be altered when converting them to DK spec as well.

Can the carb off a standard engine be used, I've seen a few photos and it would seem the float is on the oposite side.

I know he has Mike, the A/clock was short for ANTI. Martin the float chamber will fit either side but I am almost certain that the spindle and its crank need changing as the throttle rod will be on the opposite side, I will look in the parts illustration tomorrow.
