Villiers WX11 WAT
Well decided to make a start on the WX11,
She all seems ok inside nothing major to worry myself about!,
So It should just be a clean and a paint job and she will be grand! The only think I need to get it a Bar to remove the flywheel, the nut is very tight, it is normal thread right?
The piston seems massive for a 1 1/2hp engine,
Cheers Steve

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
Well I decided to go out again and give it a rub down and another coat of red oxide, I done the exhaust the other day,
Quick question should i rub down the last coat of primmer before the top coat?

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
Well my paint didnt turn up
But got the paint for the exhaust base, will give it another coat or so should be ready to make a base on Saturday! As you can see went with black, I like the look of having the base black and the engine a solid colour.
Cheers Steve

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
Put it all together to see if it was balanced ok,
So just need to rub it down and stain it, and try and find some cast wheels!

Flywheel Nut.
Probably too late for you now, but the flywheel nut is a conventional thread.
i.e. Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey.
Also flywheel should be on a taper lock bush, no nasty gib head keys to mess about with.
Just undo nut, light tap on flywheel, and ,heypresto it's off. (in theory anyway).

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
I thought I was, I got the parts manual so I seen the taper lock bits, just the nuts that tight I though I was hitting it the wrong way!
But the nuts going to stay there now, my Tyre bar and mallet wouldn't shift it so not much will! well maybe a Impact wrench but im not forking out for one of them.
Cheers Steve

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
Right, As you might be able to tell, Im no good with wood!
So its stained and varnished, shame I didnt see the drips!
Still waiting on the paint for the engine! getting annoyed now, I put a coat of the paint I got for a Under coat, so just waiting on the paint really!
Tanks had the pipes soldered in and just need painting and rubber pipe fitted, petrol tanks here and need stripping and some petrol pipe sorting.
Cheers Steve

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
Paint came today! so did the fuel connection.
so cracked out the paint in the bit of sun we had today.
Also made the bracket for the fuel tank, and remove the old broked pipe from the fuel pipe nipple, just need to work out the fuel tap size, 2 steps forward one step back!
Cheers Steve

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
Right she is back together with new petrol pipe, got a few issues, my gasket was rubish and dosnt create a good enough seal! so the cylinder will have to come back off, and I havnt had time to look at the flywheel at the mo. But she ran quite well after adjusting the throttle arm,

Re: Villiers WX11 WAT
good idea mate.....
just come off the phone with someone that CAN ship FROM the states....
i have an email address...i need to send them a zip code(post code) and they can tell me if they can collect and ship it...
they ship container's loads over so it may not be to bad.....
but they are in WALES...so don't know if i would have to go to WALES to collect the engines or what....
will see how it goes...
