I am trying to get a rough idea of year of manufacture for my Petter A1 No. 555614, i have done general searches but the 55 start is confusing me ?

Anyone able to help please.

Museum of Internal Fire has Petter Engine date records - might be worth getting in touch. They would appreciate a small donation.

Don't expect an instant reply as it's there end of season crank up and they will be busy running engines and the next week or two winterizing the collection.

Hi Andy, you engine was built between 1948 and 1951, probably 1949 at a guess.
