JAP Model 3 OHV engine
Hi all, this Alco featherweight engine that has just arrived has a good spark, it has compression but before I attempt to start it I would like to check all settings, I. E. timing, tappet settings, and all usual things, so am wondering if anyone has a book/manual on the model 3, the JAP book does not mention this model just the 4/3. Internal Fire will likely have something but problems there that I quite understand why is why am asking here first, quite prepared to pay for any postage or other ways to receive anything. Photo of engine in my thread in for sale section, its not for sale though just the trolley.
Thank you, Don

Thank you as well Paul, have checked the info. and printed it off, yeh must be getting better at this cause it printed it first attempt, engine is definitely from a generator unit as the 4 holes for gen. flange fitting are on the cast iron cowl as per information on details.

I still had it on file from when I (briefly!) had my two Alcos Don, I did have some spares for them (cylinder heads, a bronze carb and a few other parts) but let them go when I sold the engines.
Pete.
