Engine belting.
Can anyone tell me if rubber belting is any good compared to normal web belting. Also do you join rubber belting with the same type of clips and pins as web belting?

Re: Engine belting.
Ok I've just won 20 feet of 2 1/2 inch rubber belting on fleabay for £5. anyone know where I can get some gater clips to join it? Or a big favour anyone attending a rally in the next few weeks if they can pick up a few for me, I can soon send the cash for them and the postage.

PS it's for rubber belting, don't know if it's any different but any clips will do and I'm not to bothered if the pins are missing.

Just managed to find some new gator grips on Ebay for £3.50 so I'm sorted now.

Re: Engine belting.
Mike we don't have the rallies up't north the same as you guys in the south, so fleabay is the only place where you can pick stuff up, but I set a price n thats it. Even the rallies we have the prices are still high, so its not that often I get anything from them. A few years ago at a local farm auction Petter A's n Lister D's were bringing double the price you'd pay anywhere else for them (unrestored D's at £80 and that was nearly 3 years ago), It was the same two guys buying them all, either crazy or to much money in there pockets. (it wasn't you n chris was it?) The engines I bought I've had to travel milesssss to pick some of them up, thats why I was so interested in the pump as theres hardly anything like that for sale in the north and when theres is it's either scrap or expensive or both.
