Lister LD1 & Godwin Pumpset
Not really a restoration, more of a slight tart up, and putting on wheels:righton:
I bought this thing a month or so ago, engine was up in running order, but needed tidying, but dont think the pump had actually seen much use, Ill rig it up to power my two milk coolers
All the engine needs is a good clean up, oil change, and a few things fixing, she starts with a flick over compression, so there is obviously not much wrong there, will look at the engine once the setup is up on wheels and pumping.
So far I have found some nice 'industrial looking' wheels and forged axles, which had been butchered, and re-welded them, I have stripped the pump down and fitted new bearings, as the originals were rumbly, think was due to the rust on them from being sat for so long, the drive end came apart without a fight, but the non drive end was a different matter, and I had to use force to get it out!
New bearings are now fitted!
That test rig cost over £120,000 4 years ago, and hasnt actually done anything useful except get my bearings off!
More updates to follow!
