Stuart Turner K
Decided to clean the jet and fire up the Stuart K yesterday.
Only 63 K's built between 1932 and 1938 and were designed for fridge units the automatic sets were temperature controlled, these sets look similar to a Delco-Lite. They share the same bore and stroke as the P5 2 stroke.

Trying to decide if I'm going to sell my Stuart K or not.
Not sure I will get around to showing it again.

I think that a few of us have similar thoughts Steve? Certainly some of our club members have, and realistically I can't see me exhibiting many of the engines in the future and it's been four months now since I even opened the garage door. I suppose they are still in there, I will check next week.
Pete.

Keep it. Because you might regret selling it later on.

I'm glad its not just me having such thoughts, when "Normal" returns I'm likely to start selling my engines, I have my clocks to amuse me and I havent touched an engine in 18 months and to be honest I dont miss it.
My with bought me a tiny open crank for xmas and I bought a small pump kit to run and when it gets warmer I will build the pump and play with that.
I'm also looking into buying a van conversion so that I can drive my wifes and my mobility scooters into the back of it and sell my SUV and trailer as I wont be able to tow.

Could say that about a lot of stuff I've bought and sold but I don't have infinite space and money, a hot air engine is inbound and while the K is a rarety it's just a bit of a pain.
It's too big to lift into the boot of the car, unlike the Barr and Stroud and Lister 2 stroke, but it's a waste of trailer space as I couldn't put any other of the trailer engine in with it, which is the same for the other engines but they take up the whole trailer if that makes sense. If I'm going to pull the trailer I might as well take either my open crank or genset.
I may end up sending it to live at the Internal Fire with my Stuart H1 genset, Paul has a nice collection of Stuart's down their now. I would have like the P55 set he has myself....

Re: Stuart Turner K
Well, this thread has gone a bit 'doom and gloom'!
Not being able to walk around a field looking at old engines is not the worst effect of Covid by a very long way. That said, I reckon come July / August you will be able to sit in said field with your pride and joy throbbing away in front of you. (Steady on Robo !)

I like that. Something a bit different. How much might something like that sell for if I know someone who might be interested?

I can assure you that if its the hot air engine we talked about then you won't be lifting it into the car boot either, at least not on your own, they are heavier than they look.
