Well, you know how it goes... I wasn't looking for a another project but this was on ebay starting at £22 and wasn't to far away. So I took pity on it and decided if there were no other bids...

Villiers MK12 engine, turns over but no spark according to the seller. If anyone has any literature or info on Warsop pumps I would be interested.

I did up one just like that a few years ago the bolts holding the pump down will be very corroed and I found the bottom of my pump had rotted out!

Apart from that it was a nice little project good size to keep too.

I've got this stripped now and come across a problem... I need to remove the impeller. I assume what you can see in the centre is the end of the crankshaft? Is it on a thread? R/H or L/H?

Any ideas?

To unscrew the impeller turn it the same way as the engine rotates as it/s the weight of the water that keeps it tight good luck

I've just picked up a similar Ebay bargain, was listed at £25 then I get an offer to buy it for £20 so I did, only about 3 miles away too.

Warsop pump Warsop10

Quite a well engineered replacement tank, do I leave it on as part of it's history or fit the correct round one as I have a suitable one in stock?.

I saw that, glad you got it for a good price. Sadly I couldn't shift the impeller on mine without breaking it and it had some other issues so it ended up as spares. I don't suppose you want a spare pump housing and base, do you? Laughing

So is the impeller threaded onto the end of the engine crankshaft?

I believe so... I've still got the block with the crank in with the remains of the impeller on. You're welcome to it if you want to do a dummy run before tackling yours.

Thanks for the offer, but it's going to be a while before I look at the Warsop as it was one of those "right price, right place" buys and there's 3 projects in pro at the moment, just have to wait for spring as no heating in the workshop Very Happy

No problem, I may try to cut the remains of the impeller off anyway when I get a minute just out of curiosity to see how it is attached.
