I know nothing about engines, stationary or otherwise, but I've always been fascinated watching them at fayres and rallies. As my daughter has just turned turn and keeps going on about us building a car (!?), I told her we could start out with a stationary engine. So next week, I'm picking up a complete, but not working, Lister D. I chose this as I happen to have a restoration manual for this for some reason. It's going to be an adventure for sure as I haven't a clue what I'm doing, but we're both very excited at getting stuck in.

In my normal life, I'm a muscian - a piano and guitar teacher, playing in local bands. I also keep goats, bees and chickens on my housing estate... making me not the most popular neighbour in the world. Apart from that, I write books, act, kayak with my 11-year-old son, play table tennis with my 15-year-old son, and run a music studio with my 19-year-old son. Occasionally I get to spend time with my wife too!

Really looking forward to tapping your wealth of experience and knowledge - I'm going to be relying on you all Smile

All the best

Welcome indeed, from Deepest Portsmouth. Hampshire's a big place - are you far away?
