Picked up a nice Lister domestic on Saturday at 1000 rally... pics to follow.

Sadly my hopes of having it running off my Lister D have been dashed as its not pumping.

Took a little look at it and all seems good... but obviously something isnt right.

Would i be right in assuming just the rubber plunger that pumps the water round is likely to be the most common fault.

Have you tried lifting the water tank higher than the pump or using a funnel to fill the inlet pipe to force water into the pump ? The air vessel may be filled with rust , the pump looks unrestored so that may be the case. Also , I was told by a domestic pump supplier that if the gland packing isn't tight, it won't work.

Have seen the brass plate with the valves in up side down ?? are you driving it in the right direction as the arrow ?? if not the dipper wont take oil to the right places

OH forgot if the supply is lower
than the pump you may need a foot valve on the suction side
