Villiers MK20 with Reduction box
Well, the seller did say it was a 'barn find'
But, with a bit of effort it's cleaning up nicely

Re: Villiers MK20 with Reduction box
Hi Richard,
Yup - will try and get close to original colour, but might just paint the tinwork green, cylinder with HT black and leave the rest as bare metal. What do you think?

Re: Villiers MK20 with Reduction box
Hi Paul, I think it will look good with just the tin painted, with the rest I would give a coat of lacquer like I did with the A1 housing
and still looks fresh today, just one coat though as it will flake off with to much on, it just protects it from the elements. regards
Richard

Re: Villiers MK20 with Reduction box
Finally got it fired up yesterday. Had to make a new throttle adjustment screw buffer spring as it was hunting pretty badly - now nice and steady.

Re: Villiers MK20 with Reduction box
Thanks gents.
Just need the weather to warm up so we can get on with painting. Two more Villiers to work on but the MK20 HS has a nasty big end knock so not sure about it and the 'V Engine' has no spark so may need a new magneto coil.
Will start new thread when we get going.

Re: Villiers MK20 with Reduction box
All done - decided to use up the darker green left over from the Petter A1. Waiting for a quote for new engine plate but they don't seem too anxious to do business so might just stick the original back on.

Just 'elbow grease' and patience - with a small helping of thinners.
