Lister d engine
Hi Thinking of buying a lister d . What,s the difference between a left and right crank engine ?
Which one is best ? Will be driving a small water pump with it .

No physical difference, just the carb and exhaust is round the other way, on a "standard" engine the carb is on the left and on the "reverse" rotation engine it's on the right, and a different mag. As for what's best? a working one!

Buy a decent running engine, it will work out cheaper in the long run, especially for your first project.

lister d engines
Thanks for the advice. Purchased 2 engines today, one is a 1930,s right hand engine and the other a 1940,s standard engine. Bought them as a job lot. Got them home and got them both running. Think i will need a few bits and bobs to improve them so i can take them to shows. Where is the best place to get parts. ??

Fleabay is a good start if you cant make it to any sort outs/ shows etc. although prices are a little inflated as the bidding fever takes over most sane people

both have a small range of spares -
Of course your best bet is to put a 'Wanted' advert on this forum and reach a wide crowd who usually always have something to suit - or advice!
