'Starting from scratch'! - what is the best way to remove the valve plugs in the hopper - they just will not budge - is a welding torch the only way? - and if this method is used, is there a danger of cracking the hopper? - thanks, in advance - Squeekinman[i]

Try to locate some bottles - will keep you posted - I may have to take the hopper off, but of course, it will be harder to get the plugs out if its not mounted on the engine - Graham

Have got four of those little sods out of A's in the past (well 2 lots of 2), long levers plus swearing and heaving with and without heat failed every time, got three out with a socket on a mechanics air gun - took a good couple of minutes continuous hammering and made a terrible racket (hopper was off the engine). After 10 minutes gave up on number four and drilled a fairly large hole in it right through the centre, back to the air gun and out it came - had to make up a plug for the hole and braze it back up and then clean it up in the lathe, but worked fine afterwards.
