The Flywheel nut on the B&S 3HP engine I am re-building is 1/2"-20UNF Left Hand thread, but was missing from the unit when I got it.

This part is no longer available from B&S and looks to be hard to get generally in the UK.

Can anyone recommend a good (cheap) source of this part ?

Also, can anyone suggest why this nut would be LH thread, which is somewhat counter intuitive given the direction of engine rotation. ( and yes, it is listed as LH in the B&S parts list)
