thought it was called "VFT" "very f-ing tight"
hi LOCKNUT
there is no set torque setting that i know about for them and even in all the manuals and books on them just say " no set order of tightening
1st do all finger tight
2nd tighten them all down 2 flats on nuts ,and
3rd repeat as requered
steel nuts in valve area
brass domed in water jacket
and add a little greese to both surfaces to allow for gasket to spread evenly while thightening ,
incase of exsenive pitting corrsion in water system gasket faces and a little gasket compound instead of greese in that area only,
to make sure of good watertight/sealed joint
thats all the books will tell me

Re: Lister D torque settings
Hi Guys.
Thanks for your replies.I too have checked the manual and the various You tube videos and couldn't find any answers. But following your suggestions I will first set my spanner to FT and tighten the nuts ,then go round again on a setting of VFT!
Kev - thanks for pointing out about the possible pitting in the water system gasket faces- I hadn't thought about that - so nice one!
