I think one of them does the rounds up here.

Not a runner, quite a lot dismantled, needs track parts but I am sure I will have many a happy hour rebuilding it!

Hi Kev
It's an MG5, allegedly Ransome's own engine. Probably won't make a start on it until next year. Blackstone, Hornsby, Stuart Turner and Norman to finish before I end up with more stuff in bits. If no one minds I will put progress up on here. It is more akin to a stationary engine driving something than a tractor!!!

I have to say I like the look of that little track type tractor - a great use of a stationary engine and what fun when restored - I keep finding myself torn over buyong old Caterpillar machines of similar vintage and size - but the garden just wont take the abuse Smile

Have fun restoring it - and I look forward to seeing/hearing progress.

best

Going back to the Ransome, there is a chap about 5 miles from here who has 4 or 5 of these including a diesel one, they all still get used on his veg patch for all the cultivation work, just as Ransome intended. I have asked many times if he want's to sell one and always get the "Still use it" answer, fair enough I suppose as he isn't getting any younger and a spade becomes less appealing as you get older.
