Using Master Bond Supreme industrial epoxy for Bonding, Sealing and Casting
Hello All,
Forgive me if using epoxy on a restoration is seen as the devils work - I work for a very large engine manufacturer - for Oil & Gas applications - and as such come across some interesting suppliers that could really assist us in our Stationary engine restorations....restorations that have no other option but to use an epoxy compound (pitted faces, old leaking gaskets/seals etc)
We have had a recent test run on the following epoxy with startling results - run over 1000's of hours of operation in the oilfield in russia (-40degrees ) and UAE (+45degrees)I have nothing to do with the company but must say it does exactly what it says it does and a bit more to boot - please make you own minds up!
I've been testing it in ambient temperatures of 50 degrees plus for applications involving repairing broken castings in pressurised fuel delivery components as well as machined alloy compnents in fuel delivery - again under high pressure - as well as in exhaust gas recirculation - the components performed perfectly and continue to do so after approx 8000 hrs cycle time - it would hardly be tested by the conditions one of our engines could throw at it....
It has its place in a restoration and it not for everybody but as a last resort...... and apologies if this is not new to you good people.....

Supreme 45HTQ is widely used in downhole oil drilling applications. It is also frequently employed by the aerospace, chemical processing, pump, mining, power and other industries. It is available in a variety of standard packaging options including ½ pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon container kits. It has a 6 month shelf life at room temperature when stored in original, unopened containers..

So what you are saying is we can glue up engine castings that have been damaged by frost with a glorified pritt stick?

im a bit unsure with these chemical compounds to replace metal ....
