Hi All

Hope all is well.

I need some help and advise on this magneto please.

I get spark on the plug only when the impulse kicks in on slow speed, as soon when I speed the cranking there is no spark on the plug at all.
when I slow the cranking the impulse start working again then I have spark.

Any help please.

Some magnetos have in effect automatic advance of the spark. (not a mechanism, just the physics of it), and this means that the points can open too early at higher revs while nearly right at low revs or cranking speed.

Try closing up the points a little? (can't hurt to try that?)

I'd also set the plug to about 15-18thou, that will help the mag a little.

Hi All

Always good to ask the experts.

She is now running.

For some reason I cannot get the engine to run slow now.
I have adjusted the set screw in both directions but no luck.

Everything looks to be in place, the governor and weights looks fine.

Thank you all for the input and help.

Regards Raymond.
