just found out that i may need to insure my engine it a wittes dragsaw 1934 can anyone give me some idea what to insure it for?

Hello I would say between £600 to £900 But :o
You may have problems if you are trying to insure it to use att Public Shows Sad

15 years ago I use to take an Avon Drag saw to the shows around Wiltshire and Barkshire I stopped when my insurance went up to £600 per year.

will not allow saws of any kind, there are companys out there, but be preparred to pay a little more, its a lovely set up though, id keep it you may not find another complete one cheers

i will not sell it my dad worked out when he got it. he was given it by a farmer that was going to scrap it 1968 41 years ago. the plan is i have a classic car and i will take the car and the engine to shows i can dump the car in the field and play with the engine. what in insurance do you all have you have? you insured engine but do you have to have Public liability insurance? we was going to just add it to the house insurance but i guest that will only cover it at home. mike

just phone up Walker Midgley Insurance for the year £16.55 for the engine [up to a £1000]£18.25 for the public liability Insurance [£2.000.000] and i can use the saw cheers

if you join a local engine club
you pay your subscription £10/12 or there abouts
that covers you for any rally
when you get to the show thay will ask for your ins
then you show it and away you go
it very easy

the south west stationary engine club, will insure you for £10 a year including monthly mags, details in local clubs section, but they wont insure the saw, that price you got quoted is good
