stopping an engine from shaking whilst running
hi what can i do to stop pink ladys duetz shaking all over the place, its on a 4 wheeled trolley and shaking alot on the axles
Re: stopping an engine from shaking whilst running
Make sure it is level
chock the wheels
increase the speed a little so it is smooth
try Strapping the front and back wheels together with a bungee rope
Or failing all that stick it in your lorry and fetch it northwards for me to play with

Buy the sound of it I would say the timing was out on it, or tappets to tight.
You can get Diesels to run nice and smooth

That is strange its normaly the other way round, try fitting rubber tyres see if that helps.
Or you fit it on Rubber mouintins.

Thare is your answer then
If it is ok on concrete ( it looked steady in the video )
then the grass must not have been level
Make sure it is level and then place some squaure pieces of plywood under each wheel to stop it sinking in the damp Cornish earth .
If that dont work I will drive to Carnon downs and take it away for you

you need to reduce the amount of slogger the trolley has, things like loose wheels and mounting brackets amplify vibration, and sometimes reducing speed can help, but not soo much that it starts to lump.
