That's an idea Matt, or maybe I'll leave it for now and see if I can pick up a good secondhand one.

I'll see what turns up in the next few weeks as Mike might have one he doesn't need.

Re: Wolseley WD8 running problems.
Ok I don't understand this, I started the WD yesterday before loading it into the van and it was running very rough again nearly shaking itself to bits, I let it run to warm up and all of a sudden it started to run sweet again ran like that for a few minutes then just died nothing I could do to keep her going. I took the points out and clean them again and reset them started her first swing and same again nothing I doing stops the rough running then after a few minutes it settles itself then anoth few minute it dies away. Any suggestions as it's doing my head in, even my wife is agreeing with me it's every engine that I get near starts to act up for no reason and without even touching them.

Can I add that when it starts up it's like a car running with a plug lead off, then when you fit it back on that's how it sounds. Got me beat, my heads done in, I know not hard

No not had the mag checked, I think that's what it must be. Must be breaking up or something, even trying to alter the timing when it's running makes no difference what so ever.

Re: Wolseley WD8 running problems.
I've never bothered with it much, I do have another mag to fit to it now, but it looks as if I need to have another look at the carb, thanks for the info.
