My early Christmas present. IH LB 3-5hp.
My wife has bought me an early Christmas present so thought I'd share it with you all.
It's a non-runner but I don't think it will take much to sort out an even better it was a great price, anyone selling engines on ebay at the minute must be well pi55ed at the prices there not making yet I'm happy that things are a little cheaper, but that's just me as I'm a tight wad before anyone else says it.

Yes Matt I'm lucky and love her to bits
Good news I collected it last night and before we loaded it crancked it over and she fired first time and ran for about 15 seconds before it stopped. It was shooting flames out the exhaust so looks as if the timing might be out and running a bit rich so need to have a look at it this week as I'm hoping to rally it next weekend. The seller who had a large shed full of engines and some wonderful stuff nearly all big open cranks, you name it he had it, the shed was like aladins cave to SE fans, and this engine was to new for him. He managed to find a silancer for me but a pipe that's missing he couldn't find but it's not that important as we think it's just an engine breather pipe. Going to try and get a set of wheels fitted this week also.
I'll keep you informed of how I get on.

Thats a cracker Stu , got mine all running now , but I thought mine was an International, but turns out its a McCormick Deering LA instead, runs nicely now after some tinkering and the crack that was what I thought was a crack wasnt a crack, just a casting flaw I'm very undecided at the moment as to paint it or not though !! Cheers mate Jon

Jon due to ill health and other projects I've never had time to do anything with it yet but it is next to be looked at. I have found a place in the States that does new condensors etc for the mag so think that's what I need to sort out to get mine running correctly.
Could you please put some pics up of yours as I'd like to see it.

Stu, its runnung great mate, had to have the mag re done with new coil and condensor, other than that its had the crakcase cleaned out and new sae30 oil, and a crack in the head welded up professionally "not by me but a work colleague", valves re lapped and a new head gasket made, there is a vid on youtube of it running https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI5MfUmhpAA&list=UUCO2laBctz2pL3NKUhIC8zg&index=8&feature=plcp

Sounds great Jon, nice job you've done on getting it running right. I think I'll get new condensor, coil and points for my mag. I noticed you said you'd managed to find a manual to help with the timing would it be possable to send me the timing information please.

That's a great present Stu. But if you loved her that much you'd jump on that lawn mower and cut the grass.......

I had visions of you "tearing up the grass" on your ride-on. What am I going to replace that image with now ?
