1919 PETTER M
I HAVE POSTED A PICTURE OF MY PETTER M ON THE PRIDE AND JOY SECTION I THOUGHT I WOULD SHOW THE CONDITION OF THE ENGINE BEFORE IT WAS RESTORED I WISH I COULD TAKE THE CREDIT FOR THE RESTORATION BUT I CAN'T THE ENGINE REQUIRED A NEW CYLINDER LINER FITTED ,PISTON ,RINGS AND ALL BEARINGS WERE REMETALLISED .THE ENGINE HAD LAYED OUT IN THE OPEN FOR YEARS IT HAD BEEN ROBBED OF THE CARB LUB UNIT, MAG ,EXHAUST AND LINKAGES EVERYTHING WAS SIEZED UP .THE RESTORATION TOOK 6 MONTHS IN ALL
IT RUNS LIKE A DREAM I JUST LOVE TO HEAR IT RUNNING JUST NEED TO FIND SOMETHING FOR IT TO DRIVE AND LOAD IT UP I AM SORRY I DON'T HAVE PICTURES TAKEN DURING THE RESTORATION[

hi graham..
looks like you have a project there mate..that will keep you busy for a bit at least...
good luck with it,it should look very nice when finished..i do like them my self..
had a 3hp back a few years ago and when it was on kerosene it sounded and smelt great..

jeez, there's some work gone into that! out of interest, what was done to the rim of the flywheels to get them from rusty to shiny?

The flywheels where skimmed on lathe,the only way to recover them due to the amount of corrosion

A restoration to be very very proud of, especially when you see the before and after photo's.

You did well to get it done in 6 months you normally have to spend years looking for the spares you need.

Nice early M type there, how did you manage to find the early carb to replace the missing one ? The carbs with vertical needle valve are like hens teeth....
